Since returning to work last week I've been using the Varadero to commute.
With the rain yesterday I swapped back to the XJ.
What I'd forgotten was that I had meant to bleed the brakes again after stripping them weeks ago when I replaced the shock.
I'd also changed the pads, so they needed bedding in, which I'd also forgot.
Then I forgot to check the tyre pressures
Then I forgot I'd drained most of the fuel out and put it in the Varadero.
So leaving for work, the bike didn't stop at the first junction, ran out of fuel after 500yrds and was a spongy 5 mile ride to work.
The moral of this story.
When the bike had been layed up for a while, even if you haven't docked around with it, give it good look over before taking it anywhere.
