What's the difference?
« on: June 26, 2008, 18:24:24 »
Between a K7 650 and previous models?  I have read that earlier models put out a bit more power and were a bit thirstier. Can anyone gove a potted history of the model's development?

My K7 has two sparkplugs per cylinder and ABS not sure if that's it.

K7 is a 'cleaner' engine - runs leaner, has the twin plug head but also has catalytic converter in the exhaust.  Hence the slight increase in weight for 07 and slight fall in performance.

Fuel consumption can be up to 5mpg better on the K7 compared to earlier models though.

Thanks for the info. Presumably things like filters, oil capacity and other routine stuff are the same. It's a bit difficult tracking down servicing data but I suppose that the info will be available by the time the bike os out of warranty
