Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE for 1050 cast wheel.
« on: June 25, 2023, 20:39:58 »
My original A41 tyres are coming up for renewal on front wear at 7500mls. Would be happy to have the same again but see this Metzeler Roadtec tyre is getting great reviews in the bike press.
Metzeler don’t list it as an option for the 1050, on their website, just a trail looking type, but there is no option to select the cast wheel version as opposed to the XT.
I only ride on the road, has anyone with a 1050 tried these Metzeler tyres and how did they go compared to the A41s?
Thanks.

My 2019 DL1000 came with Roadtecs fitted. I can't comment on durability as only done 1k on the bike but absolutely no issues with grip wet or dry, very confidence inspiring.

I have the rear SE on my 650 cast wheels and found it more confident then the standard Roadtec 01 it replaced, which is saying a lot as the standard 01 is a great tyre. Having the extra couple of mm tread on the shoulder feels great at full lean.
My dealers cannot supply the front SE in the Vstrom size until sometime in August so the 7 year old standard 01 at 18,000 km will have to continue sticking like glue.
