SV 7 GS

Not technically a V Strom but closely related.
Looks interesting to me as 99% road rider.

This is a pleasant surprise.

I thought the end of the SV, and by association the 650 VStrom was going to be it... but a combination of the two bikes into one model... intriguing.
The older I get, the better I was.

I’m considering going to the Motorcycle Live Show at the NEC to take a look (I think it’s GX not GS).

However, I do confess I want to see the Honda CB1000GT as well. To me, it looks to be the new CBF1000 and as a former owner of the MK2 version, I’m a big fan.

I won’t be changing my 1050XT anytime soon, but no harm in taking a look.🤔

Phil, I hadn't seen the new Honda until now. It's an interesting bike and as a previous owner of a 2008 CBF1000 I look forward to seeing it up close. The HP seems very healthy too although the first version was quick enough anyway.
Ta me duck.

I had a pre-reg 2012 which took me all over Europe. Its abilities far out shone my skills….. but it was always referred to as a boring bike.🤷‍♂️

Looking at pricing…. The new bike is £12k…. The CBF1000FAB 2012 GT was £11.500. 🤔

I'm amazed at the price, with the spec I was thinking towards 15K.
Our CBF rattled off some big rides although because of a house move it was sold too soon. The highlight was a ride to Tuscany one Summer.

Any excuse for a piccie.
South Wales I think. Ignore the digital picture reference it's definitely not Northumberland and it's definitely not 2014.

Italy via the alps, Spain (x4 as far south as Gibraltar / Cadiz…. and Benidorm 🤣) and Portugal.

Never had a problem. Neither did my wife on her CBF600SA.👍

[pulls topic back to the new GX]

That is a nice looking bike. Lower than my 800RE but not much lighter, and even though it does not get USD forks or radial brakes (the 800's need some selling points I guess) that may well be my next bike in a year or two. I loved my mk1 SV but I really wanted a bit of wind and weather protection so did not get one of the last of the old SV's still in my dealers stock last year.

Now that has got my attention  :happydance:

Love V-twins and this new machine looks to have most of what I'm looking for in a future bike in my garage.

Looks like a trip to Cupar will be on the cards once the machine is released into the public domain  :thumb: :auto-dirtbike: :thumb:

Should be good for those with a shorter inside leg that struggle with the Strom. But could they have kept the 20l of fuel as in the Strom ?
Are they 4 piston calipers .....hmmm...I wonder if they would fit the Strom...

Finally.

I have been patiently waiting for Suzuki to spot the gaping hole in their line up. I thought this would be based on the new 800 platform and mimic the 1000 GX, using the 650 as a base should lower the price significantly.

17" wheels, a decent seat height and a realistic weight is all I could ask for. Throw in ride by wire and the added possibility for cruise and it's a box ticker for me in a few years.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

The idea is a great one, how come it's taken so long ?

They’re bringing out new models and also giving facelifts / upgrades to most of the range.

Looks like they’ve decided to do most of the range in one hit, rather than a couple of models a year.🤷‍♂️

Here's the very latest info from Suzuki. https://bikes.Suzuki.co.uk/bikes/sport/sv-7gx/
No ride by wire from what I can tell, no cruise control, and for me one thing that bugs me on a touring bike,
no main stand.
Fed up with anti motorcycle legislation ??.
Then get off your backside and join the Motorcycle Action Group. Protect your right to ride.
