Castrol power 1 at Halfords

Bought some Castrol power 1 10w 40 ( the non racing) at Halfords today for £31.78 for 4ltre's. That's cheaper than Ebay or Amazon, not often you get a bargain at Halfords!

I'd have had that for the convenience but you could have saved another £1.68 if you bought it from the sportsbikeshop.

Good spot porter,with my 10% Bennets discount at Halfords that is £28.60. I'm in.

Unfortunately in Northern Ireland free UK delivery doesn't cover here as it's usually mainland only, in most cases. We get screwed for delivery now from Brexit.
Used this oil from new apart from one change to Motul 5100 that was quickly removed because the gearbox was extra clunky.
The discount doesn't cover the 10w30 or any of the racing grades.

Porter, according to their web page Northern Ireland counts as the UK mainland. 
Yes, I've always used Castrol Power 1, Castrol Power 1 Racing occasionally but I don't know if it's any better in a V-Strom, I doubt it?

 Cheers Mick, I'll keep them in mind next time.  Can't speak for the 650 but the 1000 tends to use a bit of oil when on the racing 10w40 but none on the normal stuff.

Check before you order though, just in case! 
I've only put the racing in a couple of times over the years but can't remember it using any oil on it.
