Givi top box feels loose on M5 mounting plate..

I've just fitted a used givi 47litre top box onto a used M5 mounting plate and it feels loose, almost too loose to be safe. Is this right? My previous shad cheapie fitted tight on its universal mount - I'd have expected it to be the other way round if anything.
Is the M7 likely to be a better fit - anyone know or had a loose fitting Givi?
It's my first Givi and I'd expected something better!

Does the plate have all the mounting rubbers and do they look in good condition.
The rubbers are replaceable if they're missing or worn down and they are what should hold the box tight against the latches.

My large Givi was a very tight fit.

You can buy slightly taller mounting rubbers when things start to get worn, part number is  Z126A, try a search on eBay.I also have put a sheet of rubber on the top of the mounting, the sort that you put on trays as an anti-skid measure to stop plates moving around.Makes the top box nice and snug with no movement.

I've just looked at the rubbers, and actually I don't have any, there is only a thin strip of foam (which I'd thought might be a rubber) so no wonder it's loose. I've ordered some from amazon, many thanks for the help!

You will probably find it is still a bit loose as they always seem to be. If I recall, the Trekker Outback I bought stated that taller rubber bung thingys than the standard type needed to be used with it. I bought some sticky back foam and used that on the base plate to stop the noisy rattling.

I'm sure that is all true, however, I suggest the bungs should be superglued in place. The pressure of a topbox on each bung , when left in situ for a few weeks, seems to stick the bungs to the underside of the case. When the case is removed it then drags the bungs out of their little hidy-holes and they fall aside and roll away unnoticed.

The spring-loaded metal latch in the box can be a sloppy fit. I put packing pieces in my Trekker 52 to stop it rattling about on the 'pyramid', as well as a block of silicone  gel on the plate just forward of said pyramid.
The V47 fits snug as owt, no rattles at all. Same plate.
