Handlebar brace
« on: August 05, 2021, 16:30:50 »
Afternoon all,

I am expecting to collect a new 650XT next week having sold my  previous model (16 plate) 650XT a couple of years ago ( yes I missed it so have bought a pre reg new XT).

I've had a problem with another bike where strapping it onto a trailer I seem to have overtightened the securing straps and ever so slightly bent downwards the right hand handlebar.....

So in an effort to avoid doing this again I obviously will run with the straps a bit less tight, but I have bought the genuine Suzuki handlebar brace, which seems to be needed if you fit aluminium panniers for some reason..??  But I'm hoping it might add a bit of rigidity to the handlebars..?

Has anyone ever fitted one ?  Is there a downside like maybe vibration?  ( Just thinking about the bar end dampers etc).... I was thinking of a tuning fork and experiments we did in school.....
