Pirelli scorpion trail 2
TimB:
After 4000 miles I decided I had enough of the OEM the Bridgestone’s BW 501/2 which I found OK plenty of grip wet and dry, but slow to warm up, difficult to turn in and quite squared off now.
I have decided to go for a pair Pirelli scorpion trail 2s, winner of a recent ride magazine adventure bike tyre road test - they used the V-Strom 1050 XT for the test which was handy.
I seem to like Pirelli tyres, and was impressed with the scorpion trail 2 fitted to the Africa twin 100O I used to have and currently available for around £200 for the pair on the internet
Local dealer JW Groombridge will fit them next Tuesday,

Hugo Magnus:
I use them on the Multistrada. they're great on the twisties but square off fast on the motorways. they could do with a firmer compound in the central band.
Mr Nick:
I still have them as possible replacements as I really like the Trail 1's on the 990 and have had decent life out of them (at least 7k and still OK for wear), but 2112 found his Stelvio (I think) ate them in no time. I don't run heavy but am not subtle with the throttle so they may not like being loaded up much.
Hugo Magnus:
Yes that's fair comment, I'm often two up with luggage.
Relevant11:
I liked them but the front tyre cupped dreadfully after about 4000 miles.
