Well I've emailed the company for the 3rd time now. This time using a polish translation site. Hate it when companies don't even reply to a potential sale.

I noticed big patches of rust on my HEED bars the other day. I've taken them off for a bit of sanding and spraying. Maybe I'm just a bit unlucky, but I'd expect them to survive a bit longer without a retouch ? I've had them about a year now.

They replied. The engine guards work with any make of bars they say. Now just to find out if they work with Suzuki centre stand.
I'm going to get the aluminium guard so no rust problems :)

Once you refurbished your HEED bars, and before they're fitted, spray some ACF-50 or Waxoil into them to protect the inside too.

They do fit the Suzuki crash bars but I modified the plate to make it fit closer to the engine. I did this by drilling holes and using U-bolts instead of the supplied hardware.

I've email Heed to see if they still offer the Alu bashplate and engine bars for the £194 forum discount price.

Locky, do you have a centrestand? Does the bashplate fit OK?

Thanks for the rapid reply. I'll see what they get back to me with.

I wish I'd done this to begin with instead of paying £180 for the official grassbox.

if anyone is interested I mailed Heed recently ( in English ) re best price for a set of  crash bars and steel skid plate and they replied very quickly quoting 225 euros incl post( which at current rates is approx £170 quid including paypals crap  exchange rate  and charges. ) quite a bit cheaper than buying via ebay . I ordered and they arrived quickly . . they were for my K5 650.

I've just paid 108€ for the crash bars only (have Suzuki plastic engine guard, came with the bike with hand-guards and tank bag for 1€). Current rate of exchange, say 1.35 , makes £80. I don't have to change my money though and there's no 'shipping', just across land. No problem ordering off ebay and paid by Paypal.

Happy bunny.  :lala:
So how's it going so far then?
