I made one of those at uni as a robotics project.


It went very very wrong, but only after it passed enough tests for me to mount the 'mower' part. I turned it on, went upstairs to fetch my camera, and came down to see the thing tunnelling under a fence :shock:

I imagine Flymo use better QA than I did though :haha:

I like the idea of these automatic things, however this video highlights the perils of robot vacuum cleaners and dogs:
