I can't believe that we didn't get lost at all, considering our basic French and the fact that I don't have a satnav. I could not have read the map and rode the bike at the same time at home, would have been inn the boot of a car :D

I did a similar trip a couple of years ago fantastic area roads are great and the hotels and food are cheap :D

Likewise did a similar trip around some of the battlefields - ended up in Mons. Roads really are great. I was on a 1000V and my pal on an 1150GS - he got slightly better mpg than I did unfortunately.

The food and petrol were not so cheap this time as the exchange rate is pretty poor, also petrol was over £1 a litre at 1.60 euro. But we only did 400 miles so I only filled up twice, so not too bad :D
