Indeed... I'm not allowed to sell a battery with a separate acid pack . I now have to prepare every battery I sell ...  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Good news if you ask me, having an associate who got attacked by the scooter brigade, though I understand it is a nuisance.

Does this cause a delay for the consumer?

If you want to buy a battery from a shop / dealer it has to be prepped which means you can't take the battery until later in the day or the next day because some batteries take longer to prepare.

We have tried to make things easier by prepping some of the more popular batteries but you can't prep them all plus, keeping alot of batteries charged is a logistical headache if you are a busy shop .

Not sure if you can buy a battery online anymore but in my opinion if you want to buy a battery call ahead and order / pay for it before you arrive , just an idea .

When I buy a battery for my fleet of machinery I phone in my local dealer, then go pick it up pretty much straight away, give it a little charge if I have time after it has settled for a while, no great trouble at all when you pause to consider the reasons this is being enforced, and uts not likebyou have to go through the process often. :)

This all relates to buying acid over the counter not a lead acid battery that has already been filled with acid.
I the bike dealers I worked in we would not supply acid over the counter.
If you wanted a battery we would prep it and you'd have to wait for it to be ready. No option.

Websites like MDS batteries and Wemoto and M&P will just start prepping the batteries before they send them out.

This is what Wemoto says ... I imagine other suppliers will be much the same.
