I've had a rather busy day on the bike today. After meeting my mate Matt at Morpeth, we headed North through Wooler before stopping in Milfield at the fabulous Cafe Maelmin. A bacon butty and a coffee was the order of the day and there were already a gaggle of bikes there when we got there. After our very nice brekkie we continued North over the border and through Coldstream, turning off just afterwards for Kelso. From Kelso we took the road to St Boswells and then continued on to Selkirk and a splash of fuel. We then headed South towards Hawick and onto the A7, heading South towards Longtown. We decided to call into Gilnockie Tower to be all historically interesting and it turns out to have a very small, but pleasant tea room. It's the ancesteral home of the Armstrong Clan and the only clan member to walk on the moon was actually there in 1972!
After a refreshing cuppa we headed through Newcastleton and around Kielder Reservoir, stopping off on the dam for a picture. After Kielder we cut over the Otterburn Moors to Rothbury and more tea. From Rothbury it was a relatively short run home through Netherwitton. A belting day out and another 210 effortless miles on the tigger. After a good bit of soapy love it was out with the front wheel, ready for a new set of boolers to be fitted tomorrow
