Looks great! By the way, keep an eye on your bike. There was a dodgy looking bloke pressing the brake pedal on it earlier...

*** NEXT PROJECT ***

Your next project should be blinking (relay switch) alternating BLUE lights for the front to get the idiots to move out of the way.   :auto-dirtbike:

I'll have a set of those also

They look great. Are they taken off the rear/brake feeds directly or do they run through relays?

No need for relays for lights like this.

No need for relays mate, and luckily when you remove the tail section there are 3 crimped joints in the wires that you need. You just solder a short 3 core tail onto these wires and this gives you room to wire up / solder the tails from the lights.
Wire colours are
Grey - tail light
Black with white stripe - ground / earth
White with black stripe  - brake

The pannier rails come off as one unit with 6 bolts and the full tail section has 1 Allen bolt either side. Really is a lot easier than it sounds .  :thumb:

Remove the pannier frames and tail section then tie it up to allow you to solder

The 3 crimped wire joints in this pic are what you are after . Really easy to do .

Solder or crimp a 3 core wire tail to these wires and run it to the under seat compartment before re-assembling  the back end and pannier rails . Fit the lights and route the wire tails from the lights between the tail section and side panels, there is a small gap that's ideal to route the wires. Connect everything up and test before tucking all the wires right back under the tail section where the tool wrap lives. Crack open a cold tinnie , stand back and admire your handy work . Jobs a goodun!!  :thumb:

Mount the snap fit mounting brackets as above using a zip tie through the top light mounting before snapping the lights into place. You can use a squidge of black silicone sealant as well as the zip tie to to prevent the lights moving once it cures.
Please be carefull here as the lights are a very tight fit and you don't want to damage the waterproof outer sheath on the light. I recommend using some lube like acf50 or wd40 on both surfaces or wrap black electrical tape round the light to protect the sheath where it clips into the bracket. Don't worry if you do burst the sheath it's not the end of the world and can be fixed. Try to have the bottom of the bottom mounting bracket in line with the bottom of the pannier rail as per the picture or when you get to the exhaust side you won't have room to mount due to the exhaust shield.

Exhaust side - same procedure here . Please note that the lights are clipped in nearer the back of the light. This helps to hide the cables when you route them up the pannier rail .

Route the cables up the inside of the pannier frame as above and use a black zip tie or electrical tape every 3 inches or so to keep them tidy then drop them back down and route them between the plastics as per the picture,
Leave a small bight to allow water to drip off the cables.

Job done, stand back, admire your handy work and think to yourself "I am a mechanical and electrical genius and I deserve this cool beer"  !!  :obscene-drinkingchug:  :thumb:

Hope this is of some help . Regards, Jok

OK , I have had loads of enquiries about these lights, particularly form people who have purchased front lights and seen first hand the quality. As such , I have just ordered more materials to make more rear lights . I have to say, this rear protection package is even more impressive than the front lights by a country mile . They really are the dugs bawz!!
When the materials arrive I'll post in the for sale section and ask a mod to close this thread .
Lights will be on a first come first served basis . Regards , Jok .

I'm liking the 'stand back and have a beer' part of the fitting procedure, how much research did you do on that?
