Popping and farting
« on: May 20, 2011, 08:56:58 »
Hi blokes wonder if you can help. My friends has a sv1000 with after Market cans on. Still with Baffils in and it pops and farts a treat when you come off the throttle where as my DL1000 with Remus cans with or without the baffles will not back fire any reason for this?

Popping can be caused by air leaks somewhere in the exhaust system - most likely where the silencer connects to the down pipes.

I'd say you need to cut back on the cheese and pastry!

oops sorry, I should read more than the subject before wading in! my bad!

yeah what they said!

I'd personally make a rich washing up liquid solution and pour if over the various exhaust linkages and and see if it blows bubbles, but you don't have much time after starting it obviously.
