Rear light/indicator plug?

Newbe here  :lala:

re: Rear Wiring connector for brake light/indicators

I installed an Admore lighting kit on a Givi top box on another bike. I got the Admore 'Y' wiring harness for this bike, super simple install. This gives me brake light, running light & indicators on my topbox.

I'd like to use the same topbox on the 800DE. I already got the Givi rear rack kit but I don't have the appropriate wiring harness. I know I could start cutting into the wiring harness but I'd prefer not to do this!!!

Admore Lighting have 'Y' adaptor wiring harness for the following Vstrom: DL650, '05 - '17, DL1000, '05 - '13, DL650, '18+DL1000, '14-'19DL1050, 2020+

Any chance one of the above Vstrom's has the same rear light/indicator harness plug(s) as the 800DE?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There's always a chance that they could be the same.
Maybe, put a photo up of the connector on your 800 & one of the 'Y' cable & someone might be able to say if it's a possible fit.

Then call in here & say hello.  :)

Thanks for the reply Mick.

Just being lazy :roll: trying to avoid digging into the body work to find the connectors!! They are actually behind a hard plastic cover which I need to figure out how to remove.

Just heading over now to say hello to my fellow inmates!!

Kevin, just been on the Admore website & messaged them to ask if they did a kit for the 800.
This is the reply   .............
It looks like you might have to get that plastic off & have a look.   :)

Hello Mick,

Many thanks for asking the question :clap:

Didn't see the message section on the website!. I sent them two emails but never got a reply.

I'll have a look later in the week :thumb:

OK, hopefully this might help others.

There's a small Black and Red connector (see Pic1)
Red = LH indicator
Black = RH indicator

In pic 2 you can see a larger white connector, this is the running light/brake light

I'll contact Admore & see if they have a suitable cable and report back :thumb:

That white plug looks like a standard 3 way Sumitomo connector found on most Japanese bikes.
If you're handy with a soldering iron you could make your own 'Y' cable up?

Hi Mick,

Appreciate the reply.

That's really useful, thanks for the link. I just need to track down the plug for the indicators and figure out the plug Admore use for connecting to their light kit :thumb:

Just installing the Admore LightBar Pro on my 2021 V-Strom 650XAA.

Did you figure out how to access the black connector shown below?

I purchased the Plug-n-Play adapter (Part# A-VS2) for my V-Strom to simplify installation.

The black connectors on the adapter hook up with the black adapter in the tail section shown by the red arrow below.
What needs to be removed to get at that adapter in the tail section? I can’t see my fingers squeezing in there.
Cheers
Matthew in Toronto.

I'd try to reach it with your fingers, those rear plastics are a nightmare to get off, especially if you have luggage fittings attached.
