Servicing recommendation in and around Sheffield.
« on: December 31, 2022, 13:29:04 »
Asking for a friend as I do all my own spannering but don't fancy risking someone else's bike.
Major service including valve clearances on an SFV650 GLADIUS. She's tried a couple of big dealerships in Sheffield and had some hilarious quotes and one bloke even take the bike away and then double the price over the phone.
Just looking for any recommendations for a solid, reliable mechanic in our around Sheffield area who hopefully won't take the piss when he sees a 'girl' ride up.

Have you tried the two wheel centre in Mansfield Woodhouse? Not that far from Sheffield

A little further afield, but thoroughly recommended https://parkitt-performance-motorcycle-racing.myshopify.com/pages/road-bike-service-mot

If I didn't maintain my own, this is where I would take it.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I take mine to 413 Motorcyle MOT on Penistone Road in Hillsborough.  Its a small garage so if I get a service I leave it with him for a while, but the owner is really knowledgeable and does a great job for a reasonable price.

Cheers all, she's going to give 413 a try as I've heard good things about them from a few people I know and they're super local to where we live.

Thread resurrection but maybe it proves useful for a future search.
She went with EW Motorcycle Repairs in Staveley near Chesterfield.
The bloke checked the valves (no adjustment needed at 18k) replaced the plugs, coolant, oil and filter. Cleaned a dodgy electrical connector, supplied and fitted a new battery and straightened a bent rear brake lever just because he saw it whilst doing the work.
Quoted £250 but got done early so charged £210 all in, parts and labour.
Seems bloody good to me.

Thank you so much for the positive update, it seems there are some decent workshops close to home.
