Bike mechanic Leeds/York area

Can anybody please recommend a bike mechanic/Independent garage? I'd like to get my rear shock spring swapped for a Hyperpro spring because the stock spring ain't up to much carrying pillion rider and I want to carry luggage too?

Could you do it yourself? (I may be able to assist w/c 31 Aug). If you want a mechanic, try Rose @ Leeds Motorcycle MOT centre on York road Leeds 0113 249 4049  :thumb:

I did mine and there really isn't much to it. Only thing that slowed the job down was the ABS gubbins getting in the way. There's a couple of good walk through's on the net and on here.

Cheers for that Lads.
UK_Vstrom650 thanks for the offer of help and I messaged Rose yesterday on their Facebook page after a little research of my own. Good to get feedback recommending her though :thumb:
chris1200 thank you also, I'll try to find some of the walk through's. :thumb: It was just that I saw a post by Diver saying it required some specialist tools to swap the spring out?

Yeah you will need spring clamps. I got my set from the local garage who said they had no idea how to do it. Took them back an hour later, job done. That's how I ended up doing it myself. :) It's a fiddly job if you have ABS but that's about the limit of difficulty. If the price isn't bad no harm in getting someone else to do it though. P.S. Are the fish and chips still as good in Wetherby? Intend stopping for some on my August tour of the UK.

Spring clamps are £12 from eBay, £20 from Screwfix...

(Never used Facebook to contact Rose, always phoned or popped in as on way home from work)
