Valve clearances Vee k7
« on: September 27, 2018, 17:04:34 »
Help please.

I have my k7 Vee stripped down ready to check the valve clearances.  Could someone please tell me the tolerances?
Try as I may, I don't seem to be looking in the right place for for them.

Looked here, am I missing something?? Got owners manual k8 k9, no mention of k7.

I didn't think there was a 1000cc k8 or k9. Didn't it stop at k6 for the early vee? I could be wrong of course. It's been a long day...

When cold....

Inlet - 0.10 - 0.20 (0.004 - 0.008)
Exhaust - 0.20 - 0.30 (0.008 - 0.012)

Valve clearance is pretty much the same throughout the Vee range .

Well that's done for a while.
I'm near 20k, not been checked since new (my bad) all were on the tight side of tollerences except one inlet which was on 4 thou.
Back together, all runs sweet.

Whilst apart I took the advice of some of those on here and on YouTube... Cleaned and greased as best as possible all electrical connectors, new spark plugs, new coolant, and fitted pipes for throttle body balancing.

When I next do this, I would either take the front mudguard off, or mask it up to protect it rather than pussy foot around.
