If you're a new rider on a brand new bike then you might not get a much better deal from elsewhere, it doesn't hurt to look for one though.

Been riding 4 years with continous insurance for 3 and a half years (wheels 2 work scooter didn't supply me with details but I was insured?)

cheapest I've founds is on go compare,, OK its £417 but only £40 an month, saving a tank+ of fuel a month is nice

Try Suzuki insurance, as it is a new bike they are supposed to beat all quotes.
Now on a Super Tenere having put 64k miles on a 2011 DL650

Does really depend on your location.. mine is very close to a war-torn area in Leeds, so my insurance has been astromical in the past... after 8 years with no claims, I'd managed to get it 'down' to £290 for the Wee (this is a bike that was worth, about £1600)
Then I hit pay dirt last year, and got it down to £150.  The Vee has cost me about £500.  (against about £700 for a New Multistrada   )

Erm, When I say it's 'cost me' I mean, the insurance premium I pay, in exchange for the peace of mind, that if I need to make a big claim, I can.  I have personally decided the 'big claim' hasn't appeared yet.

That's a bummer Dan :( I've been riding for just over a year but because I am old, been driving since the first invented tot automobile and I live on the edge of The Cotswold, my insurance was £185 fully comp but with a £300 excess, £200 mandatory

The two times I have been hit (car and deer) it was cheaper for me to repair the damage myself than put it through the insurance. The car drove off and the deer didn't have current insurance and refused to leave me his details!

Surely you mean JUst VEry CUrious ??

When I got my XP in June the best price I could find was £240 ish (I think!) Three years NCD but passed my test before the Almighty started shaving!

Enjoy that new bike - shame about the ECU delay, from fifteenth-handed info it appears that the ECU reduces the power but it is still good to ride....

Luck's not with you at the mo Choppsie!

Nor me - miles away and my parting comment was 'so much for guaranteeing to beat any quote'...

Indeed I am :) and that was Friday, 48 hours later she had her first sleep outside the Mrs house, parked up, stand down, gravity took the bike and fell over from the side stand :( :( damage is minimal "bizarrely" just a small crack in the handguard (fixed) and a curved clutch lever (to be fixed) not bad considering the handguard essentially took all the weight

Managed to hoik her up 'like a bus!!!!!!!' in one go with a full tank, seems somehow easier then the Varadero was, needless to say I won't be doing that again anytime soon and the engine bars are going to be added very very shortly!

Looking good, at least you got some pics before you started dumping it lol The indicators are in a better place now, else you'd have to replace that too :thumb:
