Got my flat rear sorted.
Took my backup tyre in(just in case ,it's the bank holiday) but Paul at SPS services ,01603 891381 in Horsford for anyone in or near Norfolk , cannot  recommend them more highly, came through again and got me a new road 6.
Spent the pm scubbing them in on my favourite bit of b road ,good to go tommorrow :thumb:

Happy days are here again  :lala:

Just got back from early run to avoid the showers, mostly worked :icon_wink:
Used the Beeline in compass mode to try and link my north b road route to my south .
Also mostly worked, but when the weather warms up and I have more time will try again ,too many A roads for my liking.Bloody windy .
Could tell I was taking it easy yesterday scrubbing the new tyre in,after I filled up last thing so I had a full tank this morning ,the range to empty read 275 miles  :thumb:

Nice ride, you do live in a beautiful part of the country though I've never ridden there.  :thumb: :auto-dirtbike:

I was busy doing washing and housework this morning but set out for a ride early afternoon. First thing was fill up the bike because it was showing a range of only 25 miles on the clock. I filled up at Sainsbury's and guess what, I had left my wallet at home, so, a quick ride home to get it or that's what I thought. I used the A30 because it should have been quicker than the B road that runs along side it and ran into holiday traffic, cars and caravans in both lanes travelling at 50 mph max.

After a quicker ride back to the garage, on the B road, I paid for the petrol then had a nice ride and a very quick ride home. A good day but tomorrow it's forecast to be nice so I'll be out earlier for a longer ride. I should have a look at the dash on my DL650A really but I need a dry ride to somewhere nice.  :auto-dirtbike: :thumb:

All the more reason to take time finding those "no tax routes" as we used to call them :icon_wink:

Decided to fire the strom up today for the first time from Oct last with a view to taxing and insuring it from April 1st. Its been on a battery tender once a month and today the tender said it was good to go, wouldn't turn over, good to go into the bin!
I'm disappointed I didn't get to ten years on the original battery, well sort of. Bike is a 2014, came into the dealers in March 14, sat a year till muggin's here came along in March 15. Not to bad I guess, longest lasting battery I've ever had. Looks like I need a new charger also, tomorrow could be an expensive day in Halfords! Bummer

Crosscountry run to Sunny Hunny, and it was sunny
But not this crosscountry,I have been up here before last summer on the 650,when the Creake was dryer.National limit ,right.......,good luck with that.
It is fast flowing about 3 feet deep and a bit of a bombhole with steep sides,so chickened out, left that for a drier day ,road 6s are good ,but not up to that.Would the RAC recover me from here,it IS a road? ,sort of,officially.
A good few bikes on the seafront with not much breeze ,lovely.
Mine was easily the most dirty, covered in crap bike there.

I was on a trail on Dartmoor years ago. There was a huge puddle on a strait part of a very fast track. I was on a Honda XR400R so rode through it with my feet up, it was about a foot deep but no stones or rocks. So, I rode up the track about 100 yards, then turned and hit it very fast. I swear I aquaplaned right over the top, about 20 yards. I wish someone had filmed it. I felt like a champion.   :auto-dirtbike:  :thumb:

Asmith61,
If you are heading south  from Hunny try,
Ringstead ,Docking,North Creake(where that pic was taken),Edgemere (bumps) ,Little Walshingham,Thursford,Blickling, North Walsham. And on home.
Perfect Strom roads ,some open some REALLY tight.

Nige

We used to go to the Gin trap in Rinstead for a meal in the early 90s, we used to stay in a chalet on stilts at Snettisham beach it had no electricity and had gas mantle lights 🤣 we were there the night the terrible news broke about lady Diana had been killed in a car crash.
Great Roads up there 👍

Unfortunately the creeping 50,40mph fetish has got to the coast road , God ,in the 80s it was carnage  :icon_wink:
Now I have to look inland for the best roads, but it is time well spent.

Had a ride down to the DDay Museum in Portsmouth.  Opens at 10am so good photo opportunity in front of the landing craft whilst it’s quiet.

Early morning run out,5:30/6:30 ........who knows?
To find a quiet spot for breakfast al fresco.
Found a doozer, took my lid off and heard two skylarks fighting it out in song, ace.
Got my seat out and got the bacon on just as the sun was burning through.
Spent an hour in the seat digesting my brekky listening to the larks, even had a visit from a male pheasant,he came walking up the lane bold as brass right past where I sat,....Huh.Saw not a soul.
Packed up all Ray Mears like and toodled of towards Kings Lynn at full  amble speed.
On the way back I saw two tractors, one old, one new, and it looked so strange (the sheer size of the new against the old) I stopped the bike and took a pic.

148 miles under the wheels this morning on a breakfast run to the Super Sausage on the A5 at Potterspury. A bimble back via the M1 to the Market Harborough turn had me cross country till Leicester and the short run home. Met a good number of blind car drivers, nothing to do with the weather, one being reminded to look when leaving a junction via a bang on the drivers window that woke him from his sleep. A bit chilly early doors so put a jumper on that also bulked the bike coat out a bit  Left the SS when the Grom crew started arriving...

Wet this morning,so just wanted to go to Infinity motorcycles to get some free GT85 with my Easter voucher that runs out today. Not taking the car into Norwich,a pain, so out on the bike.
Turns out the road is drying nicely so divert to my (third) nearest Waterstones 75 miles away  :icon_wink:
Go to pay in Waterstones and the nice Lady says "you have enough on your loyalty card to pay for this book, would you like to use it?"............Yes.

Get back into Norwich and score my free GT85 from Infinity.

Not Yorkshire levels of getting stuff fer nowt ,.....but not bad.

A weird long weekend… we sold our house back in February and looks like we will be exchanging next week. Our new home (new build) won’t be ready till September so going into a rental while we wait. New house has a double garage which I can’t wait to fit out, but rental options are limited so no garage… poor wee will have to live under a cover on the driveway. My little rally is staying with a friend who keeps asking to buy it, I may agree as no time at present.

I will reluctantly be selling the wee in August/September. In the move I will be left with £6k to put towards a new(er) bike, so with the sale of the wee on top I may upgrade to the 1050 or change for something altogether. Not decided yet, but will enjoy this summer as may be my last on a Strom.

Mixed feelings

I know, I almost sold it last year and had a bloke all lined up but I chickened out. It’s been a brilliant bike but after 6 years I do fancy a change, but I suppose it depends what it’s worth. I have room for several bikes come September, so may buy a third bike. The Rally for off road, the strom for local blasting and a sports tourer for my European trips… or sell everything and buy a newish 1050. I also fancy the Moto Guzzi V85… decisions decisions
