Put a couple of pr4's on Veek, transformed handling and grip, not much of the tyre not explored.
Only managed just over 300 miles so far, really looking forward to spring/summer

Hi again having found the forum I get all excited about it . V-Strom 650 tyres!
Just my findings on the Anakee 3s , great wet, dry, damp, good road feedback and 10,000 miles from them ! (2+ mm left on back). A couple of quirks from them but could be my riding ! I wore out the front first !  Tyre noise comes up from the front !
Pilot road 4s another winner, sharper, more front end feel and response, confidence inspiring, again on wet, dry, damp roads. Wear rates about 6k for rear and 8k for front. This includes a lots of Motorway too ! (replaced at 2mm)
 Anakee 3s back on next !  :)
Original Bridgestone's Trailwings OK but if pushed the front lets go! profile too abrupt/sharp ? unlike Battlewings on DL1000.

I'm on the original Bridgestones... In the dry they are fine but in the wet I don't feel confident with them at all...
Does anyone one else feel this way?
The profile of the tyres on inspection looks "lumpy" instead of a the smooth profile of other tyres like the PR2s I had on my Versys

My next tyres will be Mitas E8 OR Anlas Capra R.     No1 in Turkey!!!!! (£60 front £64 rear)

I don't intend getting my knee down anytime soon with this bike-

MartinD,

I found exactly the same with the bridestones, OK in the dry but no confidence in the wet. Since putting on the Metzlers, the bike feels more confident in the wet. This may just be down to the fact the tyres are new and have are still rounded but the bike handles so much better when turning and taking corners.

I've put about 2000 miles on the metzlers so far and no significant signs of wear.

Regards

Hmm... I'm wondering to swap tyres now or after the summer... Mind you it rains plenty during the summer too! lol...

100% agree, in the dry I ride with confidence and in the wet it's like "Driving Miss Daisy"  lol

Did you go for the Tourance.  I can get a pair of eBay for 164GBP delivered, good value unless they wear sharpish?  It's all so confusing!!  :dl_hyperhysteria:

I had Conti Road Attack's on my 08 VStrom and I wasn't overly impressed to be honest.  I hear Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2s are the way forward  :dl_smiley_banghead:

The  Pirelli scorpion trail 2 are a fantastic tyre, got 4 k on mine now , wear rate seems the same as the original Bridgestone but that is the only similarity!
