Anakee II or Tourance
« on: October 22, 2011, 19:07:24 »
Thinking of new rubber for next year.

Heard goo things about both these tyres, but never used anything but death wings and BT045s on my old divvy, so not really qualified to pick.

I do lots of miles on tarmac, but want something which will be OK on unsurfaced trails too!

Found a nice local bloke who will fit rode in ride out for £30 so not even going to bothered about where they come from!

I have found Toourances for £169 the pair delivered, Anakees seem a good bit more ££

I've just put a pair of Anakee 2's on my Wee, and so far they seem to be just the ticket. Although they're not fully scrubbed in, they turn quicker than my old Wings. Well pleased. :thumb:

You'll get the extra you're paying for the Anakees back in the form of longer life out of them. They have deep tread and they last well. I've not used Tourances myself, but I can thoroughly recommend the Anakee IIs.

Hutchie rates the tourances iirc, he wears 'em out quickly but that's usually because once he's sat on the bike, he won't get off :)

I like my anakees, can't remember why I decided against the tourance, but there was a reason somewhere along the line.

Never had the Anakee's so can't comment . But had a pair of Tourances fitted not long ago and can't fault them , they have lots of tread and seem to make the bike handle as it should with good feedback . Paid £175 and my local man fitted them for £20 .

They seem well matched then.

I may get a price from the local fella and see which comes out more appealing!

I was erring towards Touances, but the longevity if the Anakees may win it!

Have Tourances on my Vee, the rear is nearing replacement after 9000 miles, which is 3000 more than the brand new battlewing fitted when I bought the bike. Probably another 1000 in it.

The Tourances have been great, no complaints from me.

I've looked at Anakee 2's as well, not sure what I'll fit come replacement time, but the Tourances have been very good. Fronts still got loads of life left in it. And, as you've found, a bit cheaper than the Anakees.

Well, I've just been to North Wales for the weekend and tried out my new Anakees. Why haven't I put these on before? Brilliant (compared to Trailwings). Corning speed is up and it feels like I'm leaning further, though I was on the edge of the tread on the Wings as well.  :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:
