[0015] Flow for Electrical Problem Diagnosis

Summary: A diagnostic flow that can be used to assess whether you have a problem with a Battery, Stator or Reg/Rec.

The original post was made by V-Strom3 and was part of a thread on an expected stator problem, which can be found here.


The areas covered by the flow include:-
    Step 1 - Bike Leakage Current Test
    Step 2 - Battery Charge-Holding Test
    Step 3 - Functional Test of Whole Battery Charging System
    Step 4 - Simple Meter Test for RR (Regulator Rectifier Unit)
    Step 5 - Generator Leakage Current Test
    Step 6 - Generator Low Power Load Test
    Step 7 - Load Check of Wiring Between RR and Battery
    Step 8 - Bypass the Charging Circuit Completely
