Versys Family
« on: November 04, 2020, 17:26:46 »
Today me and the better half took a trip to Robinsons in Rochdale, last month she passed her test with no faults so she is eager to get her first bike.

In the showroom they had a beautiful silver grey Versys 650 with one 800 miles on a 69 plate for under £2.5K less than a new one.

She is the GT model like mine fully loaded even has a very good alarm system.
So will pick her up after lock down and once we have made room in our shed.

We have opted for the kit that lowers the rear shock by 40mm as she isn't blessed like me with long legs.

Looking forward to next year planning trips already booked to go back to Scotland at the end of March.

Photos to follow. :auto-dirtbike:

Sounds good  :thumb: my brother has the 650 Versys which is a good bike.
Depending on how they lower it, ask for any original parts back e.g. dogbones etc in case you ever decide to sell the bike.

My mates just bought one, nicer looking than the vstrom, came with more kit. It's got connectors all over the place for accessories.

Swing arm isn't some left over box section.

I do love my vstrom but if I was buying at the moment, I'd go versys.

I tested the 2012 versions back to back when I bought the glee. The current Versys does look better than the current vstrom. Forks and brakes look better. The engine, if not much changed, would swing me back to Suzuki though. The 650 v twin is a beaut.

Shame the V-twin is on the way out.
The Versys is a more sporty setup than the Glee  :auto-dirtbike:

Well having had my 1000 Versys since July I cannot fault it, the engine is a peach.

This is why after a lot of looking and searching she wanted the 650 version.
We struck gold with this one fully loaded and I mean loaded only 800 miles and a good £2.5K under list .
The only thing we done is lowered her by 40mm so now under 290 seat height.
