Is that Foxhall Asmith61?
I used to live in Waldringfield ,just outside Ipswich and went to Foxhall on occasion.
Sometimes I helped a mate set up a boxing ring there for demonstrations and bouts.

It is indeed nigel s
I started going to watch the witches in 1972 absolutely love speedway. I am ashamed to say last night was our first visit this year. We watch it on Eurosport now they show league matches on a Monday and The GPs on a Saturday.
My friend is 7 times British champion and is still riding at the age of 46 in fact he was guesting at number 1 for Ipswich last night.
I have one of his GP bikes.

Loved speedway as a kid, followed Cradley for many years till their stadium was sold from under them. Didn't go for ages till a couple of years ago when they started up again riding at Monmore Green. Unfortunately that didn't last so started going to watch Wolves....now also defunct, think I may be a jonah.

Crump  you are so right. Last season we lost both Wolverhampton wolves, and the Peterborough panthers, and mildenhall tigers have taken a year out. And in resent years we have lost the Coventry bees, lakeside hammers, Eastbourne  eagles. Back in the day (from 1972 ) we used to go to Ipswich on a Thursday Hackney on a Friday kings Lynn on a Saturday mildenhall on a sunday.  all in my brothers Morris traveler 🤣

I used to go to watch all of the Wolves home matches about 1962 onwards, then after I got married and lived in the East Midlands we used to go and watch Long Eaton, sadly Long Eaton had to stop because the local residents on a new housing estate complained about the noise.Surely they knew about the speedway stadium when they bought their houses !!
I went to the World Speedway final at Wembley about 1965(I think),the M1 hadn’t been open long and it was quite deserted there and back, but what a fabulous spectacle in the old Wembley Stadium.

Any of you speedway fans had a go at the speedway experience (Ride it and Skid it)run by the Collins family?
My kids bought me a day there for my 60th. Had a nice chat with Les Collins anout the old days.Absolutely brilliant. I was the oldest there by some distance but managed to hold my end up. Used to be at Buxton but think it's moved further North now.

Ianmc  yes you are right can  you believe some people they buy a house next to a speedway stadium, or race track, or moto cross track and then complain  :icon_batterup:  I used to work with a man who’s brother lives in the nearest village to Snetterton race circuit and they are offered free tickets per family to hopefully stop them complaining.

Crump  I did buy a 2 valve Jawa in the early 80s and used to go to Hackney training school on a Saturday morning and mildenhall training on a Monday evening as you know it is not easy at all  :icon_no: I was not the right build at all for speedway at all 🤣
I used to show my speedway bike at the celebration of speedway at broxbourne but since my knee injury I haven’t been able to. But the ride and slide school are always there with a stall
