Bike Dolly

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2016 DL650 as a second bike. I need to be able to manoeuvre the bike in my garage. I have two alternatives:

1) Use a dolly in my possession that requires a centre stand. Problem is my bike doesn't have a centre stand! when I checked the price of one from Suzuki they want $A480 + fitting! There is a much cheaper alternative (Chinese). Has anyone in the forum fitted one? Quality?

2) The other alternative is buy a long dolly with wheels, in which you push on the bike and utilises the side stand for stability. Mixed reviews on this but mainly favourable except for heavy bikes like Harleys. Would appear to work on smooth garage floors which I have. Once again, any members using these?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Hi All - thanks for your inputs.

I have decided on a lower cost moveable dolly which will suit my needs.

A favour please. My 2016 DL650 is up the coast and I won't be up there for a few weeks. In order to make sure the bike fits on the standard size dolly which is 2000mm long, I need to know the distance between the front and back axles. I haven't been able to find this out from the internet. Could anyone physically measure this for me?

That will be your wheelbase, tinternet says for the 2016 it is 1560mm. ..not got a 2016  to  measure to confirm though.
