Help with 2015 DL1000 Fork Oil Capacity

For the love of god I have search all over the net for the fork oil capacity for my 2015 DL1000. If any of you blokes have a service manual with that info I would be very gratefull as it looks like the 567ml as posted on the net is wrong. Just done a fork oil change and now they are way to hard. HELP!!!!

I've done mine twice but I can't tell you the exact amount as I used the air gap method, ie springs out, fork fully compressed, measure from the top of the leg till the oil. Oe was120mm, I put Wilbers springs in and they recommend 135mm, I set mine at 140mm. I later removed the spring but kept the oil gap the same to help smooth the forks.
I do know both times I only bought 1lte of fork oil, I used 5w oil and I had a small amount left, very small.
These forks like all cartridge fork are difficult to remove all the old oil, you need to remove the springs and pump the cartridge several times or you may have left old oil still it there. My apologies if you already know and did this. Good luck.

Thank you, I was after the capacity so as not having to strip them out completely. This will be of help though if nobody has the capacity.

No problem. I doubt you'll get all the old oil out though if you don't remove the spring and pump the cartridge then they'll be over filled.

Bit late for you now but measuring what came out & putting that amount back would be your starting point, then dip the oil level to finish the job. You can't always believe what people on the internet tell you...

It's a shame you didn't measure the oil that was emptied out.

567ml is way to much ...  I'd say you'd need around 475ml.

I think the air gap is around 75mm ..

Pour some out and feel the forks

I get it about measuring what came out and I did. What became confusing was 350ml from the right fork and 430ml from the left (no leaks) so I need the capacity which for most bikes it's a simple search on thenet but for the 2014+ 1000 it appears to be a closely guarded secret, hence the reason for asking if anybody can tell me the measurement from a workshop manual.

OK, as I was not getting the capacity figure I needed and not happy to ride the bike I decided to tare it down again but do full strip to remove the spring to do the air gap measurement which also required some tooling to be knocked up but once done I used a vacuum pipe set at 120mm to get to the correct air gap.
Out of curiosity  I then poored the oil into a measuring jug to find out what this guarded secret Suzuki is keeping from us all and obviously the Suzuki mechanic that did the fork service last time. And now I am going to expose this guarded secret. It is in fact 376ml, way off of what I was led to believe. All back together, set up and tested and bike rides so nice again now. Cheers blokes.

I suspect the reason for not saying what to put in is because different people will spend different amounts of time extracting the old oil so they can't say how much needs to go back in on top of the dregs. Someone who strips everything and cleans it with the wife's toothbrush will need more than the quick pour out & done merchant. If they allow for the latter, the former will be under, and the opposite. Even using what came out as a measure assumes that the seals didn't allow anything in or out so it's just a guide.
That's not taking into account changes to part specs over the production run, or aftermarket ones, that might alter the volume required either. I wouldn't count on there being a number that works for all.

The Glee service manual states oil capacity in ml and air gap (distance from the top of the tube to the top of the oil). Surprised Suzuki doesn't do the same for the 1000 as a guide. I think (off the top of my head) Suzuki says something like 560ml of oil for the Glee, but when I was buying the oil the chap in the shop said they'd just use the 1 litre bottle for it & not worry about it.

  I had the forks out of my Glee last week to fit fork gaiters and changed the oil whilst they were out, they just about took a 1 litre bottle between them at 140mm.

Hi all just fitted Hyperpro springs in my 17 1000 they say 145mm air gap so this only lets you put in 220 ml of 10 great oil . Seems very low but rides OK 🤔 can this be right after what I have read hear
