Exhaust clamp thingy replacement
« on: April 07, 2015, 22:22:46 »
Just seen this on my downpipe...not surprised as its been continuously used throughout winter etc.

just wanted to know can I take it off and replace it with a simple lock ring clamp as it has corroded right through.

fantastic, Thanks very much for the reply!!! don't suppose you know what size? :D

only other question I have, will the new clamp come apart? I won't need to take the exhaust out and slip it on will I? haha....(yes I know I'm showing my incredibly limited mechanical knowledge here  :shy:  but I've never had to use one before    )

Not sure on size, you'll have to measure yours and yes that type of clamp opens up .

I hope so, although the stock clamp has done 10 years service! so can't really complain.

Ah crap... I remember now I used one from my cx500 for the strom and it went with the bike last week.
Thanks for posting the size... I'll have to get another for the cx now.
