First YouTube video
« on: March 31, 2021, 17:55:04 »
I have uploaded my first YouTube video, a short walk around of my bike and the modifications that I have made.

I’m not very good at this, far to many ‘ummmms’ going on, but hopefully as I do more I will get better. I’m planning on filming some of the best routes, road and trails around the Lake District... watch this space

Oh and as requested, I gave a thanks to this forum  :)

Well done. Splendid bike in almost mint condition. However one point lost with that rusty front brake line support. (only joking) . And a video without annoying musak

Its harder than I thought to make a good video... I love my bike and I am enthusiastic about it but I sound so dull and monotonal

I will improve, thanks for the nice comments. I have lots of routes planned and my action camera is ready to go, so please watch this space  :)

Pedant or idiot alert.

Are your heated grips on the right way as the wires and logo appear to be upside down?

You have a rather wonderful bike, a credit to you. :bow-blue:

I know what you mean but no, the heated grips are fitted the correct way round. They are handed with different ID’s (RH slips over the throttle tube), so you can’t get them wrong. However most have the wires going down, but I made mine go up to make sure they couldn’t interfere with the clutch or brake levers. I don’t know why the logo is like that, I agree looks wrong

If the wires were on the bottom then the logo would read the correct way up when viewed from the front 😉

Lovely bike though, sensible mods and I love the wheel tape.

If they were rotated then the logo would still be upside down to the rider.... plus the hand guards prevent the logo from being visible at the front... strange but they work so all good I suppose  :)

That is really odd.
Not that it matters but I'm curious, is there currently a logo on the front behind the hand guard which shows the right way up then?

Yep, the logo is repeated several times but always in the same orientation. So no matter which way you have the wires, the rider always sees the logo upside down and only when viewed from the front is the logo the right way up...  agree a little odd.

Wow, that is really lazy from Oxford, sure my old ones weren't like that.
I have grip puppies for my massive hands though so could never see the grips anyway.

I must have got a dodgy batch then

I bought them direct from Oxford, and as they are handed the only choice is which way you want to wire to face. Oh well, hopefully I’m not the only one but if I am then I’m just unique

Just cross your hands while riding, you'll be fine.

Is the throttle side the opposite I.e correct way to rider and wrong way to front?
If so then Oxford have saved a few pennies by using the same mould for both sides 🤣
Drop Oxford a line though, might get a free set for spare....
