Nevada to the Hardknott
« on: February 16, 2021, 17:07:50 »
BMW loving father & son Americans came over so I met them at Heysham and showed them round my patch. I'll forgive you if you jump some boring sections. Blimming camera mount is a bit temperamental.

Then they kindly invited me to Reno and Dad lent me his BMW1600GT for a Vegas, Grand Canyon, Death Valley trip.

Cheers for posting this, Youngman. Got me excited for summer  :handgestures-fingerscrossed:

What did they think of the narrow roads in the Lakes?!

They were initially interested in the 'displacement' (cc's) of the Strom - both being on 1200 BMW's and battling to keep up on the way to Ravenglass  :auto-dirtbike:
They loved the wiggly narrow roads. The roads are wide and straight in the South West and cranking 400 miles in a day is not uncommon. At the top we met a bunch of jolly Germans before I introduced them to the Penrith - Shap racetrack, aka the A6 :-)
