When you're bored enough, please take some time to look at this clip. Shot in 1080p hd, uploaded to YouTube after processing with HandBrake.
Not bothered about comments about scenery, bad riding, improbable Welsh sunshine. Just whether the vid looks like he video or a Lego collage. Will upload the original to YT to compare later. Thanks, any and all.

Maybe it's my phone or something but the video quality varies a bit. Perfectly watchable, despite the improbable Welsh sunshine, but it does vary.

Thanks. Watching on wifi, ethernet cable or phone data plan, Paul? And is it when in shadow that it goes blocky, or maybe when buffering? Also, anyone, what quality is YT showing you it at in the "settings" menu?

OK as a view of "the ride", but to be brutal it is a bit, what I call, blocky and blotchey. Lacks definition that would enable freeze frame reading of car number plates and road signs. But no worse than my Drift Ghost at 30 on 720. Hope this no offensive - if it is blame my laptop.
PS it was better when I switched the YT setting to 1080 playback but not when switched to full screen.

I'm on fibre wifi. Shadow is the easiest way to notice the blocky bits but the rest of the picture is blocky from time to time. Buffering is non-existent, there is plenty of grey bar in front of my point in the playback line. As I say, perfectly watchable. I wonder if viewing through the forum makes a difference? Would watching it directly from yoochoob make a difference?

That is just what I needed.
I'm sick to death of this bleedin' weather, I crave warm sunshine and dry roads.
I watched it on a laptop, I thought it was ace.
The first thing that struck me was the excellent sound quality, the absence of horrific wind noise was a real pleasure. The picture presentation seemed very good to me as well.
If I'd seen it on Vision On, I'd have said "that's good for 59 and three quarters".

Brutality is exactly what I'm after, Brockett. Thanks. Seems excessively blocky to me, too. Was shot in 1080p at 59.9fps. Some have said to shoot in 4k then yt will compress it to 1080.Sounds counter intuitive, shoving more data at a site that can't seem to handle the 1080 version.
If there are any experienced Gopro and yt users about, fancy sharing your camera / protune /transcoding /uploading secrets?

Now I've watched both on a big screen I can see a difference.
It's worst in the shadows, but the first is still acceptable in my eyes. :thumb:

I've been looking for a reasonable re-encoder for converting film 'backups' to a format that my Bluray can handle & I'm fairly impressed with the quick test of Handbrake I've just done. Had all 12 cores running 100% the whole time and took half as long as what I've been using up to now. A 500MB 1080 mkv to MP4 took 14 minutes at about 80FPS using the fast 1080p30 default & no apparent loss in quality either. :thumb:
