A 2012, if it is an L2, would normally be a glee.

The original 1,000 was christened ( imaginatively ) a vee.
The original 650, being smaller, became a wee.
The L2 used the engine from the Gladius, so became GLadius engined wEE, or glee.
After that, Suzuki put out a new 1,000, with a beak. So the Veek was born. Glees then got a beak, and became gleeks. It got silly after that with the single headlight and newer models.
Stick a photo up to make sure it's not an old stock wee registered in 2012.

Probably the easiest difference from Wee to Glee to spot is the headlight setup.
Wee:

Glee:

The wee is more angular, the glee rounded. And the glee has gills. Among many other differences.

There also a difference in appearance of the clutch setup, when viewing the counter sprocket area (above rider left hand side foot peg).

On RN's Glee that's not a standard exhaust. Let's not over complicate things now.........

Wee up to 2011
Glee 2012 - 2015

After that it's really bleak...........

So how's it going so far then?

True, I just grabbed 2 pix of white 650s just to emphasise the shape differences. Wasn't going into the actual differences between k/L models one by one.

Shame, I was about to point out that the tyre valve caps on the glee are slightly less black than the ones on the wee. They may be aftermarket caps though...

The op said he couldn't see much difference. The pics were merely to help with a quick visual identification.

I like the use of "gills" - very descriptive      (and not at all fishy!)

Be aware that gills do not make the glee amphibious.
Then again, neither are KTMs...

Needs a little more than a splash or two on the plug behind the rad though...
