New Exhaust Cans

well I bit the bullet at the weekend and after reading the threads on here bought some Beowulf cans. I was at the Scottish Bike Show and the offer was too hard to resist.

£240 for stainless ovals  
(it was another £20 for the black ones, which I really like, but they'll be behind the panniers and out of sight so didn't see the point)

they'd sold the only pair they had brought with them so said they would have to courier them up . . . . . well they arrived today - what service!! postage was also free as 'it wasn't my fault they didn't have any' another bonus!!

Well done, very pleased with mine and once I've learnt how to do photos (upload them not take them!) I will put mine here.  Sounds like you had good service which is always good to hear !!

cans are on, got the shorter ones after checking out the threads (Beowulf also advised this - very knowledgeable). bit a pain, took me around an hour.
the link pipes are different lengths and the angle in the pipes not the same. I'm not sure if this is on purpose or not. the pannier rails also got the way, I was going to take them off, but overall it would probably have taken the same amount of time.
took a bit of effort to get the link pipe into the can, but some copper grease soon sorted that.

the cans are REALLY loud!! they are as loud as my "not for road use" Art cans which were on my SV and I still have the baffles in.

I think because of the link pipes the right one sits a bit higher than the left (pic 4) after tightening things up it looked a bit better (pic 5)

There is a problem with your links, you are looking for a link that ends in .jpg or .gif etc. The images should not be wider than 550 px

the whole bike is pretty clean. I've only had the bike a month and up until then, the bike had done 4k in nearly 2.5 years. I'll soon get that sorted!

Sold the only pair they had at the show you say....YUP, that'd be because I bought them  

I agree with you on two things:

1: Yes, they are REALLY loud, louder than I had wanted...but you get used to it.
2: They do look the dogs danglies.

I had mine on in about 30 mins. I took the pannier sides off first. Had a bit of a juggle to get what side went where etc. but all on and no leaks. 1500 miles later, better midrange, better low end - not so much chugging, and about 4mph off the top end...indicated 132ish vs previous indicated 136ish. Remind me to remove the secondary butterflies next time I have the tank off...
