Anyone used one of these before? Maplin are flogging a load off for £49.99. Wondered if it was worth it.

Can't say for definite Paul but they look very similar to these!

I've got the SJ4000 and the videos are OK, maybe not to GOPRO standard but then they ain't £20/30.
Battery might be good for an hour or so but I bought 4 extra and a twin charger that plugs into the 12v socket under the seat to charge on the go.

Sorry camera not on but here's the bracket I've got it on.
It's a little extension I made to put on the SW- Motech spot brackets I had already fitted. However was thinking of making another to fit onto the over the clocks/instruments/dials Sat Nav bracket to sit behind the screen. Just to try somewhere different.
I'm sure others will have them elsewhere.

My SJ4000 is mounted on the crashbars & hard wired in so it's always on with the ignition. Quality is OK, but as said you get what you pay for.

Edit: it's on the throttle side (ignore the headlight bulb)

Very clever Mick, clocks/dials/instruments. :thumb:

@TLP, didn't want to upset the troops, what!

Hard wiring is the way to go I think, I might get round to it one day!

Ooh how easy would hard wiring be?

I'm feeling adventurous but have a feeling my bike will become one big bodge job. Fork brace doesn't fit, and got a mudguard extender and loobman to fit...

I think it's a matter of drilling the case and forming an opening big enough for a micro(?) USB lead to get through then plugging the standard USB into a socket.
I'm sure someone could confirm & maybe help with better advice.  :thumb:

The one I bought had a waterproof outlet in the case. I just had to install a second cigarette socket on the throttle side (via Bigpie fusebox) and plug it in  :thumb:

This is mine and it's hard wired.  :thumb:

Hard wiring to a power supply sounds good. I've just bought 4 batteries for mine though. Epic fail...

Or if you have another on your helmet.

Yeah I have one of the Drift cameras, which has an opening on the rear of the case for Micro USB lead to go through. Have a mount on the crashbars and power coming from under the seat. Set it on car mode and the camera comes on and off with the ignition  :thumb:

Good solution Froglodyte.  This is the one I have which is fully waterproof, though I suspect yours is good enough  :thumb:

It has a quick release waterproof connector in the wiring for easy removal too.
