The usual wash, dry then polish. Then check all levels, oil the chain and generally inspect ready for another 600 mile week commute

I also replaced the little rubber shield with a much larger one to keep road crap off my engine  :icon_wink:

Service time - choice between local official Suzuki dealer or twenty mile ride to North London to get Kwackboy weave his magic.  Easy decision.  Prompt service, very friendly blokes and very fair price.  Oh - and on my last decent ride I was surprised to see the average MPG drop from a usual 63 to 57.  Riding the 20 miles home today it rose to 67!  :thumb:

Big clean yesterday - and so pissed off removing wax from wheel and elsewhere I went old school and 'oiled' my chain. Gave her plenty and time to soak - and wiped off the excess then spu her up for a bit as I did years ago.

Then went for a ride this afternoon.

Can't believe how much smoother the drive feels. Felt really nice.
Nothing on Tyre and less waste and Greenhouse gases..

Think I'm going back to oiling.

I hate wax. But its easy.
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

Majority of the time I use gear oil or old engine oil for my chain.

Yesterday I fully decreased the bike using No Nonsense degreaser, first time in months the ACF50 corrosion block grease has been removed. Then went for a bimble around some back roads to Helmsley to test the fork rebuild - great ride (even when I was riding down a single track and hit a massive gravel mound at 50mph = two wheel slide  :auto-dirtbike:)

Today was less exciting as I headed down the M1 to Sheffield and nearly cooked on the way back as bike reckoned it was 32°C... :icon_no:

Here's some rare pictures of my bike looking clean. The bottom one shows the water pump cover (just for FR) - bike is 6yrs old with 41,000 on the clock - it's not too shabby really  :thumb:

After multiple times of removing and refitting tank to check connections on the speedo wiring I finally gave in and bought a second hand unit. best time ever for tank off, front wheel out, speedo unit swap and refit, everything works as it should!
I might even clean it now.......

So it was the wheel unit!? Mine occasionally failed until I cleaned and sprayed the connector under the tank.

 lol lol (stoopid predictive text).

That's it folks, don't put it on a hot wash or you'll end up looking like you're riding a monkey bike  lol

Took my screen off when I saw the weather forecast for the week. I'd forgotten how engaging and how much fun riding in wind is and managed to stay reasonably cool.

Having watered my bike with MiracleGrow and leaving it in the sun it's back to normal  :smirk:

Took it for the MOT...

Passed!!  :lala:

(Although the tester seemed to get bored/distracted half way through and said it was fine)

Servicing in North London - look no further than this forum's Kwackboy and Burwin Motorcycles in Islington.  :thumb:

MOT time for me, passed happily.
Unsurprising as I only managed 2226m last year.
Half of those done in a four day quick trip to the top of Scotchland earlier this month.

Left London Early, stopped in basingstoke for coffee - then headed out on b-roads through overton-whichurch to sailsbury, then blandford, then west bay.

Was so fecking hot, I decided to go for a swim - no kit, juts me boxers then sun-dried afterwards.. It was amazing after 100 odd miles of mostly b-roads in 30C.

If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

I've removed the hand guards and Airflow screen to try and get more air when riding in this infernal heat. Couldn't loosen the bar ends to remove the guards but the guards came off, although the bar ends now rotate around...
Will see how the 'improvements' go - heading to Liverpool on Thursday so may well be putting the screen back on by then
