Semi synthetic oil (?)
« on: March 20, 2021, 10:34:34 »
As a rule of thumb, what's the best engine oil to use in a K8 DL1000....?

Semi synthetic oil over fully synthetic I'm guessing..?

Don't want to start an oil debate.

Cheers;

Spec as per the manual and use whatever brand you trust. Job done.

I would just use the semi synthetic, works OK in mine for the last 35k miles. I use Castrol power1, not because it's better than others but because Halfords is just round the corner.

You won't have any difficulties finding 4L of 10w40 semi-synth at around £30, from the big names. Last one I bought was Castrol 1.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.
