Now officially a traitorous traitor...
« on: January 06, 2018, 14:57:32 »
Today I handed over my hard earned for a 2016 Yamaha Super Tenere. Seems a nice bike and it has the panniers and other bits with it. It also has a rather fruity exhaust fitted with a power commander. I know very little about these devices (or anything really!) so now I need to read up. I collect it next weekend, so now I need to get the man cave tidied out ready for its arrival. Roll on the sunny weather... :auto-dirtbike:

Well done. A bit more legroom than the XV.
Enjoy. ( as if you need to be told )

Congratulations young man. :lala:
Warmest greetings from  :traitor:

(Does it come with an empty tool tube in which you can carry a spare spoke but no tools with which to change it?)

Does it come with an empty tool tube

No, it'll have a chain breaker and a bottle of Scottoil in it.

Now I don't feel quite so bad. I blame The Rat, he's a bad influence on us. http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/Smileys/default/traitor.gif

Thanks all! Yes Ridaz, 2018 should have some epic rideouts. Me and the other half are looking forward to it.  No room for a tool tube, but I'm keeping the scottoil handy in case any of you lads need some! Anyone got a spoke key handy...?

A bit more legroom than the XV.
Plenty of legroom, even for me! The previous owner fitted Airhawk inflatable seat pads under the original seat covers for rider and pillion. It makes the seats look a bit weird but they seem to work well and makes them hard to steal. The inflator bulbs hang down the sides of the bike.

Enjoy the new toy  :thumb: The optional wind deflectors work well and you can get mirror extenders which screw into the original mirror stems which work very well and are heartily recommended. You WILL need a taller screen however as the stocker isn't very good for the longer individual (same as just about any adventure bike to be fair). Good solid, comfortable bikes and you can drain the tank before you need to get off. My longest ever day on a bike was on my former S10 (670 miles) and I was surprisingly fresh at the end of it. For even more legroom SW Motech pegs make a surprising difference too.
