Cake is cake
« on: December 18, 2021, 18:45:51 »
OK, so we meet up with family at Toby Carvery.
There was a particular cake on the desert that myself and the lad liked but they took it off the desert menu. :bawl:
So last night in disbelief, I looked up their menu system and found the cake had been moved to the vegetarian menu
So during our visit today, we duly ordered the cake and the waitress came back saying I had confused the hell out of chef by ordering vegetarian cake and did I really want it? - after a brief silence she took one look at the pair of us  :icon_drool5: and went and got the cake.
We stopped drooling once it arrived, the carpet should clean up
May your God go with you...

Hi Dark-Strom the cake sounded lovely :icon_drool5:

Just wondered if the Toby Carvery you went to was in Ashford ?

As the wife and I are partial to a Toby  :thumb:

Hi Asmith, no, it was Epsom in Surrey.

The only TC in Kent I know of are Maidstone (top towards Langley), Ramsgate and Gravesend.  :thumb:

What??? Toby Carvery has chefs???

By their logic though, are they taking the veg off the main courses and just sticking them on the vegetarian menu?

 ### no fecking pictures of cake  ###

Fecking clickbait. ###
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Rusty, I fear you are correct about the grouping of veggie related items onto a separate menu, which IMHO doesn't really work. Problem is there were no hardcopies of the veggie menus there, so we have needlessly gone a while without cake - bloody veggies...
TLP, no photos taken as cake didn't last long  lol

If I go somewhere and want beans on toast or cheese on toast I'm now going to have to start looking at the Veggie menu?
