Thanks for all your advice. I'm going for Oxford Premium Touring heated grips £48.94 eBay Sports bike shop. Someone has mentioned these fit the v strom without trimming them down. I'll keep looking for the handguards. Those hand muffs look really good but I'm just not sure I'll like using them, they're probably the best option if you're long distance commuting though as many of you have said.
