Kawasaki KLV1000 for sale (same as V-Strom 1000)
« on: September 21, 2021, 18:36:21 »
Sadly, hip and knee problems mean I'm letting my bike go. It's exceptionally tidy and everything is sorted, e.g. clutch basket, magneto/flywheel, TRE, Power Commander, Fork brace, etc.  I want £3300 for it and here's a video for you to checkout...

Removal (if required) involves 4 screws.

OK, let's get this straight!  Admittedly, the beak wouldn't have been on my shopping list, but it was *given* to me for nowt.  When I overhauled the bike, I thought I'd colour match it and put it on just to see how it looked.  When a stranger asked if my KLV was a brand new bike, because he'd never seen one before, I was quite chuffed.  When I told him it was basically a V-Strom 1000 he twigged it (but he still went to check the registration year).  So, I left the beak on because it differentiates it from Your average V strom and if any buyer doesn't want it, I'll remove it ... and sell it separately.

Glad you saw the video. There are other videos on my YouTube channel showing some ride-outs on the bike and some other bikes I've owned and worked on.

Not the best time of year to sell a bike, so it's still available. I'm still tempted to keep it however. A hip op. might mean I could do that.

I'm not 100% happy with the sound of that engine. Maybe it's just the clutch, but do you have another video where you can hear it more clearly?

Also whereabouts are you based?

There's no problem with the clutch.  I fitted a reworked clutch basket from John on this forum who does the modifications to reduce clutch "chudder".

The carbon silencers (which save something like 9kg of weight up high) may be blowing slightly on the link pipes on the videos. I did attend to it later.

The throttles have been balanced and a TRE has been fitted plus a Power Commander and a thorough tuning on the rolling road at Junction 33 in Galgate, which is near my hometown of Morecambe in Lancashire.

It has many other upgrades, such as taper roller head bearings, LOUD air horn, Bigpie fuse boxes and gear indicator, front fork brace, dual headlight relay, Madstad screen adjuster with Vario screen, DRL's, 12 volt socket and another connection for heated gloves, Loobman chain oiler, engine covers, rear sprocket spacer fix, and more.

Thank you for the explanation. I'm across in the north east.
If my local leads don't pan out I'll get in touch.

Yes, someone has been to view, said he'll have it, and is collecting on Friday.
