I've found that there are a lot of thoughtful drivers out there, especially the lorry drivers. Just one or two idiots who actively try to block you and the rest are asleep at the wheel.

its nice when that happens, I've had lorries and buses as well as cars pull over for me

but also has twats in tiny fiat 500's as well as others move across to deliberately stop me from filtering

Whilst it very nice and polite it’s also dangerous as the amount of cr*p that is at the edge of the motorway anything could have been flicked up at you or they could have got a puncture and swerved just as you passed them.

Courtesy is nice but not when it is dangerous.

This was excess, I don't need that much space. I will pass the car my way. The best thing for the drivers to do is to stay in lane and don't move to the left or right at all. I will choose the place and time myself and pass if safe to do so.

Yes I agree. I hate it when they dive to onto the side. One feels both obliged to overtake and resentful at the same time. I drop back until it is safe.
