« on: June 05, 2013, 17:24:01 »
Yep, tomorrow I'm off to Canada and the USA for three and a half weeks with the Mrs. Starting in Vancouver we then head to Seattle, then meander our way down to San Francisco where a couple of my work colleagues are getting married. can't wait as I love the 'States   :thumb:

P.S. behave while I'm gone  :angry-tappingfoot:

I'm back ! What an epic holiday we've had with everything from Grizzly Bears to Gophers ! Loved Vancouver, a chilled out, relaxed place to visit with incredibly friendly & helpful people, nothing was a bother to anyone and the service we got was superb. The Listell Hotel was excellent and a great place to stay if anyone is heading that way. Seattle was as good as the last time we were there and sunny too, a rare spectacle in those parts. Portland is a fairly big City with a little town feel and has some cracking micro breweries knocking out some top class ale (of which I tried many - all good). The yanks love us Brits and we were made to feel very welcome everywhere we went. Petrol is almost free out there too at about $4.20 a US gallon (3.8 litres for a US gallon) so around 73p a litre ! Just as well as we had a 6.0l V8 GMC Yukon XL which is a big old hector of a 4x4, great fun to drive though ! We finished off in San Fancisco which is very busy and not the best city to drive in but vibrant and there is always something going on. Nice to be home, although I nearly wiped out a cyclist today as I pulled out of the drive and turned right not left, ho hum....

Yep, we're already looking into an East coast adventure starting in New York and working our way up to Canada and then travelling through Montreal, Ottawa and flying back from Toronto. Watch this space...
