This trip was definitively my best so far, it was due to the photo on the road with the autumn trees that I met my wife after I posted it on Instagram.

I rode the Douro valley in 2016 and then went into the Serra de Estrela national park. The roads here are fantastic. There had been some major wild fires in the area so the vegetation (some still smouldering) was conveniently reduced to give a clear view of the road ahead :icon_wink:

Portugal is a small country but with plenty of good roads where you can enjoy the landscape and the revs.
There's this yearly event called "Lés a Lés" with a 3 day route that goes from north to south in around 1000 kms and gathers more than 2000 motorbikes.
it is not my scene, because I like to roll more solo or in a small group, but it is a way to get to know the country and cultural differences better.

Nice story, beautiful pictures, pity about the wife but not every trip can be perfect!  :stirpot:

At that time I'd agree with you, because I got divorced

Beautiful roads and great scenery.
Not entirely sure I could stay sober long enough to ride anywhere though in Port country  :obscene-drinkingchug:

Wives are not all bad. I've had several. One of them was even my own (after she'd divorced her first husband )
