Photo help.
« on: August 15, 2023, 04:44:05 »
Trying to post a photo and I keep getting a white screen with this in the search bar. https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=post2;start=0;board=58. Tried on my phone & laptop and keep getting the same thing. Photo is a jpeg. What am I doing wrong? Working on the bike is easy compared to posting a photo of what you have done  :fix: :old:

A photo has to be attached to a post with text in. Even a full stop will do.
Type in the box where you normally do for posts, then look under that box for a + sign with "attachments and other options"
Hit the + sign, then under where it says Attach, hit the "choose file" button. Your device will then get you to decide where to look for the picture, and which one to use. For multiple pics, hit "more attachments" and choose more pics.
Your pictures will not show in preview, but their names will show in the attachments box.

If you've done all that and it still doesn't work, download the file to the device and try attaching from the download folder.

Plus the file size of the photo may be too big. I can't download any photo file that I take with my SLR but a photo file from my phone is OK.
If I want to use my SLR files I use this to make them smaller (I presume other programmes are available) https://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDownload.htm

Edit, that's DSLR & I presume any digital camera might be the same.

Thanks all, so at a guess a 3MB photo is to large.

I thought it might upload @ 3MB? Try & resize it maybe to 1MB or less & see.
This one is 3.42MB ........
Could it depend on your internet speed (fat rat?)

 I generally resize to below 500kb
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Rather than focus on filesize, resize your image to 800 x 600px and the rest should sort itself out (yes, Internet speed may affect your uploads)  :thumb:
