Yeah I hit them with fine emery cloth and brake cleaner before hand. The groan is gone with the old oe pads back in. I thought they would be a good pad too as they had good comments on forums etc and I wanted something not to hard  on the front dics after my rear dics warped within a few hundred miles of fitting ebc hh pads.  :angry-banghead:

Never heard of pads warping a disc! Perhaps they had jammed, but you'd notice the disc was super hot all the time. I'll be dropping HH into my front sometime soon.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.

Got tempted out by the sunshine for a proper ride rather than just a commute. Took the road over from Blanchland to Rookhope where the ice warning light started blinking at me. Five minutes later I was caught in a snow shower. This winter ain't done with us yet.
Hear all, see all, say nowt

Took the gear shifter off for a tidy up. 6 winters have taken a toll on it. May try some Harpic bleach...

Added the Givi Tank Ring, sprayed up and added the M&P universal risers and also added an LSL Aluminum Handlebar Stiffener (crossbar).

No problems with the cables being pulled too much, I take it.  :thumb:
Looks like a nice mod to make for a more comfortable ride as well.

Cleaned the gear shifter, Harpic bleach and fine wire wool and it came up a treat. Tiny bit of autosolve for a polish and almost as good as new  :thumb:

Did you find the gear change bush very sloppy on the pivot stud? Mine went quite quickly from new.

No worries with the cables other than having to cut about 7 cable ties off.  They were all a bit tight too.

Yeah Rusty it is a bit sloppy, but it's been like that for years. I'm now hoping I've put it back on in the same place, as the alignment mark I made rubbed off... at least it won't be 1-up 5-down like I've previously managed to do  lol

Yes, that's the ones.  Mine came through unpainted though.  I gave them a quick 3 coats of rattle-can BBQ paint.

Speaking of BBQ paint, I cleaned the bike today and noticed some of the exhaust paint is coming off. Looks like I'll be getting the tin out... (That'll teach me to clean it  lol)

Hello everyone
I am a very new member and this is my first ever forum.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed me!
I have not collected my bike from the dealer yet, Next weekend I collect a 2011 650 (2012 model).
I plan to get some hard sidecases, Givi V35 or Shad S36 with the 3P system.
Also standard Suzuki handguards and maybe some Oxford heated grips.
Once the bike is in my garage, I will post all updates and modifications.
Thank you
