Careful when replying to personal messages
« on: March 30, 2022, 06:05:19 »
When you receive a personal message through this site the forum generates an email (from admin @v-strom.co.uk) and sends it to your email address.

Within that email is your message and a link to use to reply. If you just hit the reply button on your email client rather than clicking the link within the email, you will not be replying to the sender of the message, you will be replying to the admin@ email address.

People are still hitting reply to the notification email they get when receiving PMs, despite this clear message in the email;

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

Reply to this Personal Message here: https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;f=inbox;pmsg=XXXXXXX

One member even went as far to suggest that the PM system on the site was unreliable   lol

If you hit reply, your message will come to the admin mailbox, not your intended recipient.
