Sorry Folks, auxiliary lighting again.
buzzwold:
Hi Folks,
I'm looking to fit some of the ebay, "BMW" style, auxiliary lights onto SW Motech crash bars. Not expecting any issues with connecting as I've already fitted the BigPie fusebox but am wondering if the mounting brackets will actually fit around the bars.
One of the photos in the advert on ebay show they fit a tube size range of 18-26mm dia but the crash bars are actually 27mm dia.
Would anyone be able to tell me if they've fitted these type of lights to the SW Motech crash bars without issues, or if there is enough "meat" in the clamping halves to allow them to be opened out if required?
Cheers All.
Sir Trev:
Can you swap out the clamps? If so then you can easily get different ones, like these that go up to 30mm.

I have the BikeVis running lights on my 800RE, and they seem very well made, so these are likely to be too. Mine are on a SW Motech lightbar though as I've not got any bars fitted.
buzzwold:
Thanks Sir Trev,
I did actually price up the bikeviz lights and clamps but they are a bit expensive at the moment. The only problem I could envisage with using those clamps would be the range of adjustability.
I shall keep looking.
Thanks again.
Sir Trev:
Not sure about the ones you have in mind but the BikeViz lights have up/down adjustment built in via a pivot joint. Left/right is via the point they bolt to the lightbar. Either way, hope you get something that works for you.

1mm probably won't matter too much, just give them a shot! Best case scenario, they just fit, second best case scenario, you need to use a slightly longer screw.
