New (old) boy on the block
« on: October 23, 2008, 15:25:00 »
Hi fellas, thought I'd find out what's going on in V-strom world, this seemed a good place to start.
Having been T-boned on my 955i Tiger recently decided to change down a bit and opted for a K6 DL650.
Picked it up in Elgin at the weekend and spent two interesting days bringing it down south. It's a fully kitted out GT job, with MRA Vario screen, Remus can and other fitted goodies. It revelled on the wet Highland roads and spooky Lake District twisties and begged to be released across the Moors.
I can definitely say I've experienced windy conditons with the screen having been blown from one side of the Forth Road bridge to the other. It hasn't got the poke of the Tiger but that's not what I bought it for. Returned 52mpg in windy conditions so I'm happy with that. Handling without the side panniers is great fun in traffic, more like a smaller traillie. So a good commuter, nice for distance work and just about fits in the Bike-barn.

hello
Life isn't about waiting for the strom to pass.... it's about learning to dance in the rain
