Rear brake master cylinder - Which years will fit ???
« on: June 20, 2011, 14:39:50 »
Hi there..

I've just bought myself a 2004 650 Strom.... I've done loads of round the world touring and I'm happy to say I do like this machine :)

Well, I bought it fairy cheap with 45,000 miles. There are however a few issues, one being that the rear master cylinder is buggered..

I'm looking up replacements on ebay and wondering if the rear master cylinder is the same for all years ?? Will the one off the DL1000 fit ???

Many thanks in advance..

Ted

Hi & :welcome:

Please stick up a post in the Introductions section to introduce yourself. We'd love to hear about your touring plans too.

As for your question: the parts catalogue shows the parts numbers are exactly the same so the rear brake caliper (and even the mounting bracket) is the same on the Vee and Wee. Front ones are different AFAIK.

ps. Vee = 1000 and Wee = 650.
